Anwyn is a native San Franciscan.  Her first introduction to music was figuring out songs on her grandmother's piano at the age of 6.  She taught herself to play the guitar at age 11.  She spent her high school years at Lake Tahoe, NV singing and playing guitar and bass in local rock bands.

Through the 1980's she created and played in various folk/rock groups in the Carson-Tahoe area, incorporating the zither, mountain dulcimer, and sitar, along with guitar and banjo.

Anwyn discovered Celtic music in 1989.  She met her future husband, George Leverett at a medieval living history encampment at Lake Tahoe in 1992.  They began playing music together during the weekly meetings.

Anwyn invited several of her musical friends to join in and the group became the Celtic band 'Clan na Gael'.

During this time, Anwyn collected and learned to play the bowed psaltery, hurdy gurdy, cittern, hammer dulcimer, and mandolin.  George and Anwyn performed with Clan na Gael for 7 years.  In 1999 they moved to O'Brien, Or and began performing as a duo.

Besides music, Anwyn's interests are medieval European history, spinning and weaving, and metaphysics.
